While definitely configured for rock and pop, the wide tuning range of this Tama Starclassic Maple three-piece shell set means it can be adapted to support pretty much any genre and playing style. The 22 inch by 14 inch bass drum provides the core and is supported by a 12 inch by 8 inch hanging tom and a 16 inch by 16 inch floor tom. The kick drum features a 7mm thick, eight-ply shell while the toms feature a 5mm thick, six-ply shell, each made of maple to result in a solid punch, clear attack and big projection.

To give the Starclassic Maple range a more vintage flavour, Tama have finished each shell in a special Duracover wrap which is set off by the more modern style of the black-nickel-plated hardware.
