If you are on the road often and want to create stereo recordings on location or need a complete stereo image from one microphone - the Audio Technica AT2022 is the microphone for you! It is equipped with two microphone capsules, which are used in an X/Y setup to achieve a stereo image without using two separate pencil microphones. The AT2022 has a switchable roll-off (up to 150 Hz) and is delivered including a windscreen, microphone clip, battery and carrying bag.
AT2022: battery-powered
A narrow (90-degree angle) as well as a wide (120-degree) stereo image can be selected. Make sure that you DON'T use a phantom power supply in combination with this microphone: the unidirectional condenser capsules are powered by an (accessory) AA battery. The cable features an XLRF connector on the microphone side and a 3.5mm mini jack connector on the other, to connect it to recorders or other devices. For lively stereo recordings on location, the AT2022 truly is a smart choice.
