This is a 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum from Tama's Starclassic Bubinga series with a Champagne Sparkle finish. The second image shows a sample of this finish. This model features black nickel-plated hardware, and it's the perfect addition to Starclassic Bubinga shell sets in the same finish.
Tama Starclassic Bubinga 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum
This snare drum's shell is made of bubinga, an African wood type that is reminiscent of maple, and is known for its warm sound and its emphasis on low frequencies. A total of nine plies of this wood were glued together to create the shell, which is 7 mm thick and has a 14-inch diameter and a depth of 6.5 inches. The result is a bright, warm-sounding snare drum with a relatively powerful and aggressive attack. Before they leave the factory, the Starclassic Bubinga snare drums are fitted with Evans drumheads. To allow you to tune your snare drum right out of the box, Tama even included a drum key.
Black nickel hardware
All hardware on this snare drum is black nickel-plated. The die-cast hoops create a warm, balanced sound and they ensure that your drum stays in tune for a long time, a trait that is helped by the stainless steel Hold Tight cup washers with their rubber rings. These washers make sure that there's constant tension between the tension rods and the hoop, so that tension rods won’t come loose and tension is always preserved. Of course, a snare drum is not complete without a set of snare wires, and to give you an extra-bright snare sound, Tama fitted this Starclassic snare with their 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare wires. Thanks to an improved design, these snare wires are in optimal contact with the resonant head, allowing for a clearer sound.
