The Tama IPS135 Black is a 13 x 5-inch snare drum from the popular Imperialstar series of drums. The shell is made of 6 plies of poplar, which provides a clear tone and full, open resonance. The Tama Precision Bearing Edges and compact Imperialstar lugs also help enhance the snare drum's resonance.

Tama took a good look at every little detail of their Imperialstar drums, and then decided what needed improvement. A great example is the fact that the wrap has been completely glued to the shell of this snare drum, while other manufacturers only apply glue to a few spots. Gluing the entirety of the wrap to the shell contributes to better shell resonance, while also giving this snare its professional look. A high-quality snare drum for a very attractive price!
