General

The unusual design of the PureSound E1316 serves a special purpose. It is actually a regular string mat, but with the middle strings omitted. This aims to distribute the typical string sound across the drum. This way, the natural acoustics of the drum's kettle come out better. This produces a dry sound from the snare drum and thus a clear sound projection. The 13-inch string mat features 16 steel strings, which together give a fast crispy response.
