Even custom IRs can be created to give you ample flexibility on stage so that always have your own sound at your disposal - regardless of the back line. More than just a cab sim, the RockBoard MOD 5 offers a headphone output for more private practice, as well as an active DI for pure and immaculate signal transfer, and can easily serve as the central hub for your pedalboard set-up. De amp sim is okay en het maakt een rockboard eenvoudiger om aan te sluiten. Alles van tevoren bedraad, inprikken en spelen, eventueel direct naar de PA en terug over de monitor. Voor mij een groot minpunt is de koptelefoonuitgang, de voornaamste reden dat ik deze mod erbij nam. Hij heeft gewoon niet genoeg volume. Als je hem helemaal open draait dan komt er nét voldoende geluid uit om te kunnen spelen maar ook niet meer en in een ruimte met wat achtergrondgeluid is het gewoon onvoldoende. Jammer.

Aangezien we met onze band regelmatig op kleinere podia spelen, was mijn versterker vaak 'teveel van het goede'. Zowel in ruimte, alsook voor de geluidsman. met deze unit heb ik de versterker simpelweg aan boord van mijn pedalboard en in combinatie met de 5 Impulse Response slots, heb ik ook nog eens de keus welke versterker ik gebruik, Top! En alsof dit nog niet genoeg is, heb ik ook nog de mogelijkheid om de 4 through and through patch bays te gebuiken om mijn effecten alsnog naar een versterker te lussen. Headphone jack met ingebouwd volume erbij en er is gewoon niets meer te wensen over. Ik blij, mijn geluidsman nog blijer... Wat een topproduct!
