General
It's highly unlikely that Clavia Nord will ever stop fine-tuning their own instruments. No wonder the brand is so popular among professional keyboard players, and that you can spot their unmistakable red pianos on pop and jazz stages all over the world. This time, the Nord Piano was up for a review and model 2 HA88 was given a serious makeover. This new incarnation - the Nord Piano 3 - is a solid stage piano that approximates an acoustic grand closer than ever. Of course, various uprights, electric pianos, harpsichords and an extensive synthesizer section are also part of the repertoire.
Enhanced keyboard response
The Nord Piano 3, which comes standard with the Nord Triple Pedal, is equipped with a high-grade keyboard that consists of extra-heavy keys with hammer-style response. This version of the Clavia Nord stage piano features a Triple Sensor keybed that, aided by Virtual Hammer Action Technology, accurately registers your strokes, allowing for a natural dynamic performance from pianissimo to fortissimo. It's not necessary to fully lift a key before you can use it again, which means you can play lightning-quick repetitions. The keys even feature a velocity-sensitive release.
1 GB + 500 MB of sounds
Whereas the Nord Piano 2 has a 500MB piano memory and a 128MB sample memory, its successor offers double that amount. That means you'll be able to add loads more sounds from the Piano Library and the Sample Library to your stage piano! From now on, when you're heading out to your next gig, you can rest assured that you're packing all the sounds you'll need. Thanks to the free Nord Sound Manager (for Mac and Windows), adding to or replacing sounds in your Nord Piano 3 is a piece of cake.
