The Roland RD series hails back as far as the 1980s. Since then, Roland's black stage pianos have become a real fixture. The RD-800 takes the series to the next level, offering an improved selection of top-notch pianos and the revolutionary PHA-4 Concert Keyboard. More than 1,100 sounds are at your disposal, covering all music styles. The 200 live sets provide support for live performances, while the display and the four faders give you control over Lower and Upper 1, 2 and 3. The RD-800 will feel familiar to anyone who has previously owned an RD piano, but offers a big step forward with regards to sound and keyboard.
RD-800: PHA-4 keyboard
The PHA-4 keyboard is equipped with an advanced hammer action mechanism and with Escapement, which provides an impressively realistic simulation of the delicate playing experience of a grand piano, including the 'click' at the release of a key. The latest touch detection ensures a life-like response to your playing, which means the RD-800 reproduces your musical efforts exactly as you played them. The (Ebony/Ivory) surfaces of the keys feel just like those of an acoustic piano and provide optimal grip.
SuperNATURAL
Roland's SuperNATURAL piano sound guarantees a wide range of expressive options. The new Concert Grand has been borrowed from the V-Piano. A number of new pianos has been added (including an upright piano), allowing the RD-800 to transform according to your wishes. The Tone Color knob enables you to apply quick, complex sound manipulations. If you want to make a custom piano, note by note, the Individual Note Voicing option is at your disposal, while a number of freely assignable rotary knobs offers you real-time control over, among other things, EQ, effects and reverb. The 320x240-pixel LCD display offers you all necessary information at a glance.
