Seagull S6: construction features

The type of wood used to construct an acoustic guitar is the main factor in determining the tonal qualities of the guitar. In the case of the S6, it has a solid spruce top to provide a clear, transparent sound. Especially when compared to instruments with laminated tops, this Seagull is definitely on the rich end of the sound spectrum. Additionally, the S6 Spruce Sunburst GT features laminated 3-ply Canadian wild cherry wood sides and back, which produces a sound somewhere between that of sultry mahogany and bright maple. The 21-inch fretboard is made of Indian rosewood.

Neck, headstock and Tusq

The signature Seagull headstock features a tapered shape that pulls the strings flatter over the string nut for better tuning stability. Furthermore, the neck measures 45.7 mm at the string nut, which is broader than the average steel-string guitar. This makes it easier for beginners to play, as well as for folks who are more accustomed to playing a classical guitar. Finally, thanks to the self-lubricating Tusq string nut there's less string friction, so your strings won't break as easily.
