The solid soundboard has been made from AA-grade sitka spruce while the back and sides have been made from Indian rosewood. This proven tonal recipe guarantees natural depth and a lush balance between the basses and trebles, and fully supports flat-picking as well as finger-picking techniques. This model also comes coated in high-gloss varnish that's then been treated with an ageing toner rub for a timeless finish.

The Sigma Guitars SDR-42: Deluxe Detailing

The most striking thing about this D-14-shaped model is the deluxe detailing. The purfling, soundhole rosette, position markers, and the headstock inlay have all been hewn in complex abalone and combines with a set of gold-plated Grover machine heads and a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard to complete a stunning picture. In terms of playability, this guitar is just as stunning, since the ebony fretboard has been topped off with a 44.5mm-wide bone nut, increasing the string spacing just a touch for enhanced playing accuracy.
