Dreadnought models offer an abundance of bass tones and plenty of volume, making them one of the most popular body styles for acoustic steel-string guitars. This Takamine guitar produces a warm, detailed sound and is perfect for a wide range of music styles.
Construction of the Takamine GD20-NS
Thanks to a solid cedar top, the sound of the GD20-NS is more detailed than that of guitars that have a spruce top. The sides and back are made of mahogany to add a nice, warm timbre to the sound. Because of the typical fast response of the cedar wood, the GD20-NS is perfect for finger-style players. A rosewood fretboard, with 20 frets, beautifully embellishes the comfortable, slender neck. The bridge saddle consists of two parts in order to get optimal resonance and thanks to the pinless design of the rosewood bridge, replacing the strings becomes really easy.
The Finish
Thanks to the high-gloss finish, you can see the beautiful grain of the cedar and mahogany. Satin lacquer, as used on the neck, has a pleasant feel and is comfortable to play. Tasteful four-layered black-and-white bindings along the body, a chic, discreet rosette around the sound hole and elegant position makers all turn this guitar into a graceful appearance.
