Beyerdynamic's DT-770 Pro are one of the best-selling studio headphones on the market. That's no surprise given their highly-detailed natural sound and optimal comfort that makes them excellent value for money. Be aware that there are different versions of these headphones. These are the 80-ohm version of the DT-770 Pro headphones that have built-in limiter.

Built-in limiter

The built-in limiter stops sounds from exceeding 99 dB. That doesn't mean that the DT-770 Pro headphones don't produce a powerful sound however, just that they stop it at a level that is safe. The passive limiter works very much like an active limiter by smoothly, rather than abruptly, limiting any sounds that exceed the limit.

Applications of the 80-ohm version

The 80-ohm DT-770 Pro headphones have been designed specifically for recording purposes within a studio environment. Other versions of the DT-770 Pro include the 250-ohm version that is designed for mixing and the 32-ohm version that has been designed with mobile applications in mind.
