In Palmer's new generation of monitor controllers, the Monicon S is the smallest. A small desktop box with a dial for volume and a button to listen in mono. So basically an out of the box volume snob, is something like this useful? Most definitely! Go figure, where is your equipment? Perhaps not within easy reach, and then the volume knob of that equipment is not close either. An audio interface perhaps? Could be, those also have a good volume control, but there's a chance that 'tis a rack module not directly within an arm's length present. A small box like the Monicon S you put quite literally by your mouse pad, and so that's always close by.
