For optimal sound reproduction, the importance of isolating your studio monitors should not be underestimated. The Auralex MoPAD XL monitor isolation pad is the successor to the SpeakerDude HD and is flatter at 7 mm. The pad allows you to easily isolate your monitor from the surface it's placed upon, which results in a tighter sound with more purity and accuracy. It also allows your speaker to be positioned in different ways for optimal sound dispersion. Depending on the orientation of the pad, the angle can be adjusted up or down by 4 degrees or by 8 degrees if two pads are used together.

Prevent surface resonance with the MoPAD

If your monitors are placed on a desk, the desk will resonate when sound is played through the monitors and affect the sound you hear. Isolating your monitors with MoPADs will prevent this resonance, which is why these pads are ideal for studio applications where a pure sound is vital. They're also great for preventing vibrations from affecting sensitive electronic products like CD writers, laptops, turntables and hard drives.

Tips or comments about this product

• This product consists of two individual pads. They can be used to isolate two medium-sized speakers (like Behringer TRUTH monitors or something of similar size). You can also use them to isolate four small satellite speakers in a 5.1 configuration, for instance. The image will give you an indication of how to position your MoPADs.
