General

The KRK RP8 G3 is a solid studio monitor and the largest two-way version of the third generation of Rokits. The yellow woofers have become an indispensible sight in the world of monitor speakers. The RP8 is equipped with a newly designed 8-inch woofer, which provides a good production of the lower bass tones. The third generation differs from its predecessors in terms of the front baffle, the bass reflex port and the integrated tweeter. The tweeter has also been redesigned whereas the same old Glass Aramid woofer provides the same neat bass response as it used to. The rounder reflex port offers extra pressure in the low frequencies. The bottom of the RP8 G3 has a neoprene anti-slip layer that has a mild absorbing function.

Technology

A formidable monitor such as the RP8 G3 really needs adequate amplification. This is provided through its 100-watt bi-amped power. The tweeter receives 25 watts, the woofer 75. The RP8 always produces an undistorted sound, without an exhausted bass or sharp trebles. You can use the separate knobs to adjust the high and low response. They can be adjusted one dB at a time. You can connect the RP8 in three ways: via RCA, XLR or jack. The RP8 is a valuable asset for those producers and DJs who want a more voluminous headroom.
