General
So you're happy with the sound of your 5-inch monitors but they just don't go quite low enough for mixing bass-rich tracks. If that sounds familiar, it's worth considering adding a stand-alone studio sub to your set-up, even if you've got a larger pair of 6-inch or 6.5-inch nearfields. An active bass bin with a maximum SPL of 113dB, the KRK S8.4 dives as deep as 35Hz to ensure seriously full-range, mix-worthy audio, and offers four selectable crossover frequencies and a small army of switches and controls. For optimal performance, it's recommended to team this solid chunk of gear up with a pair of compatible KRK-made nearfields.

Added this to a pair of KRK Rokit 5 G4 speakers in a 4m X 3m room for both DJing and music production. With a little tinkering to the set up I have created a phenomenal system to work with. The extra low end makes such a difference overall both at low and high volumes. When a track I have listened to for years (Jo - R-type) creates goosebumps as if I'm hearing it for the first time again then it must be good
