General

The Rupert Neve 5059 Satellite is a 16 x 2+2 summing mixer that does away with the sterile sound of digital summing but features Reve's renowned Silk circuit so you keep the flexibility that comes with a digital workflow. In fact, the 5059 Satellite goes one step further than simply adding up the voltages of its sixteen channels. Each channel has its own level pot, pan control and insert, and you have the freedom to pick which pair of stereo outputs you want to send the signal to, which is ideal when creating subgroups. The Silk circuit adds subtle harmonic distortion to both stereo outputs and, if you want, you're free to link up multiple Satellites or combine one with a 5057 Orbit. If you're going straight for the endgame set-up, then be sure to place the magnificent 5060 Centerpiece at the centre of it all.
