The Meinl SUB20AB-M is based on surdos usually found in north-east Brazil and as such, is more shallow than standard models. This not only makes the SUB20AB-M a little lighter but also gives the proud bearer plenty of freedom to bust some moves as desired. With a 20-inch head diameter and 16-inch depth, this 6-ply hardwood Bahia surdo delivers a wide and warm foundation sound.
The Meinl SUB20AB-M: A Compact Surdo
The batter head is made using durable synthetic material painted black while the dark-tan finish of the drum is fitted with chromed hardware. The tuning rods of this powerful and compact surdo are also sunken for more comfort against the body while you move around.
