Pearl's stainless steel tension rods are machined from a single piece of stainless steel, making them exceedingly sturdy and durable. That is why they're used in most of Pearl's drum kits. Your tension rods have to withstand a lot of abuse. They are under constant tension from the drumheads, for instance, and they have to deal with the force created by the impact of your bass drum beaters.
