This tin whistle made of nickel is Generation's longest and lowest tuned flageolet. Thanks to the Bb tuning of the Generation Flageolet 6579, you can play melodies in Bb major very easily, but Eb major also presents few problems. Moreover, with the right fingering on the six holes, you can make any note you want. Yet when changing keys, the flute is often swapped for a tinwhistle with a different tuning. These instruments from Generation are very suitable for beginners, but are just as well used by professionals!

The Bb tin whistle

The tin whistle, also known as the Irish flageolet flute, has only existed in its current form since the 19th century. Nevertheless, the 'Celtic' sound of the flageolet is very popular in Irish and Scottish music. You can also hear it in films, praise music and folk rock. Generation is known for the bright and traditional sound of its tin whistles. You can order the Generation Flageolet from us in various keys and in two materials: nickel (silver-coloured) and brass (copper-coloured). The nickel-plated version sounds a bit brighter, while brass is slightly warmer.
