The 2D is a beginner model in terms of professional Maglites. Due to its compact design it's easy to take it with you. The grooved handle makes it comfortable to wear.
Maglite have added a compartment with a spare lamp at the bottom of the torch. Should the normal lamp stop working, you can quickly replace it. In this way, you will never be in the dark. With the adjustable lens you can change the light beam from spot to flood, so that you can light small as well as large objects.
