The Stagg WS-TB245S is a proper instrument for learning to play the trombone. This particular model is a tenor trombone, which is the most common type. This brass instrument is equipped with chrome-plated inner slides and has a good, strong connection between the two parts. The bell has a diameter of 21.5 cm, and the entirety is finished with a clear lacquer. A mouthpiece and a soft case are included!

Trombones are characterised by their slides and conical bells. The part that slides is actually an outer slide that moves over the inner slide, by pushing the slide out further or pulling it back in, the pitch goes up or down. There are also trombones that have valves instead of a slide, which are referred to as valve trombones. You'll also hear of something referred to as a slide trumpet, which is a trumped with a sliding part, whereas a trombone is twice as long as a trumpet and as such produces a louder sound.
