With the Royal Series Voyager Tenor, Flight Music prove it's not afraid to innovate, since both the bridge and fretboard are made of tech-ebony to spare Mother Nature. Just as innovative is the open headstock, which enhances the overall balance of the instrument, while a string-through bridge has been fitted to maximise the resonance of the Voyager.

The Royal Series Voyager: Dark Meets Light

The core of this professional electro-acoustic ukulele is formed by a solid spruce top and a solid acacia back and sides. Used by the best luthiers in the world, this tonewood combination is a tried-and-tested recipe, and the tone shaped as a result is carefully registered and amplified by a built-in piëzo pickup. Fun fact: the jack input of the Voyager doubles as a strap button, and it's the forearm bevel that ensures high playing comfort. Padded gig bag included.

Door de aantrekkelijke prijs (gezien wat dit model elders kost) toch de gok genomen.
En ja, dan kun je ook spijt krijgen… (maar natuurlijk kun je de bestelling natuurlijk ook terug sturen wanneer het product niet bevalt).

Echter, van terug sturen zal geen sprake zijn!!!

De afwerking van het instrument is boven verwachting. (Eigenlijk verwacht je dit bij ukuleles die toch echt een paar honderd euro hoger geprijsd zijn.)

Door het massief sparren bovenblad klinkt deze ukulele lekker sprankelend.
Door de massief acacia zij- en achterkant klinkt hij ook warm.

De Voyager wordt geleverd met een traditionele zgn. high G snaar. Deze heb ik meteen gewisseld met een low G. Niet dat hij anders niet goed zou zijn maar ik heb al tenor en concert met een hoge G-snaar en voor de afwisseling is een model met een octaaf lagere G leek mij wel wat.

En dat heb ik geweten; door de high G te wisselen met een low G krijg je een totaal ander instrument.

Niet alleen is het bereik daardoor groter (normaal is de laagste noot een C maar nu wordt het bereik met een kwart naar beneden uitgebreid tot aan de G) maar het instrument klinkt daardoor ook veel voller.

Tevens wordt deze uke geleverd met een chique, stevige originele Flight soft-case.

Kortom: absoluut geen spijt van deze aankoop.
