This Kala Solid Spruce Top Ebony is a baritone ukulele with a stylish look and a mature sound. The solid spruce top ensures clarity and a quick response, whilst the striped ebony sides and back add extra body and a solid bass response. It features a satin finish, which preserves the wood’s natural beauty. Attention has also been paid to the details, with an elegant herringbone rosette and purfling, neatly framed by mahogany binding.

Tonewood and playing feel

The combination of spruce and ebony produces a balanced sound with responsive treble and a solid foundation in the lower register. As a result, this baritone ukulele works excellently for both strumming and fingerpicking, with a wide dynamic range. The neck is made of mahogany and the fingerboard is of striped ebony, which feels comfortable and complements the luxurious appearance. For a stable foundation, the nut and saddle are crafted from Graph Tech NuBone®.

Ready for the road (and easy to adjust)

This baritone has a scale length of 20.0625 inches and features 18 frets, giving you plenty of playing space. The truss rod is a handy feature, allowing you to fine-tune the neck action. It is strung with Aquila Super Nylgut® strings, featuring wound D and G strings, which suit the baritone character. And as this is a ‘w/Bag’ model, it comes with a matching bag (UB-B) for transport and storage.
