The Tanglewood Tiare Series T1 soprano ukulele sounds and feels like a silky-soft breeze on a summer day. Attainably priced, this portable little, mahogany-made instrument has a satin-gloss finish and is the perfect starting point for beginners to get to grips with that typically, happy Hawaiian island sound. Since the T1 comes with great quality, pre-installed Aquila strings, all you need to do before you start playing is to tune them in G-C-E-A.

Wrote the following about Tanglewood Tiare T1 Soprano Ukulele

Ik speel al jaren een klein beetje vanalles, maar niks blijft echt hangen - ADHD, talentgebrek, desinteresse, wie weet, maar behalve zang heb ik nooit ergens echt werk van gemaakt. De ukelele blijkt precies het ding voor mij te zijn: ik kan er aandacht en tijd in steken als ik dat wil, maar ik kan hem er ook makkelijk bij pakken als ik op de bank zit en daar een beetje knoeien.

Deze hier van Tanglewood was voor mij denk ik ideaal: het is een prima instrument, qua prijs en kwaliteit ruim buiten het speelgoedsegment maar niet veel hoger. Hij voelt solide en klinkt goed, zeker met een setje nieuwe snaren - Nylgut geeft wat minder plastic geluid. Het enige probleem wat ik tot nu toe had waren de stemknoppen: die wilden nogal eens zoemen, maar met een schroevendraaier is dat snel opgelost. Ook heeft de knop-as meer speling dan me lief is, maar dat heeft geen effect op het geluid.

Ik speel er nu (slecht) Spaanse barokgitaarmuziek op en het klinkt verrassend goed alles bij elkaar.
