Als je apparatuur in jouw studio verplaatst dan kan het aangewezen zijn om USB-verlengkabels te gebruiken. In mijn geval was de UmC1820 van Behringer een goede 5 m. verwijderd van de laptop. De voordien toegepaste USB-kabel was dik en 2meter lang en dus geen probleem. Daarom heb ik met een integral kabel geprobeerd van 5 m lang. De geluidskaart werkte maar in het geluid werden klikjes opgewekt. Met deze verlengkabel van 3 meter was het probleem opgelost. Voor 5 meter afstand was de dikte van de USB-kabel speelde blijkbaar belangrijker dan de toegevoegde aansluiting van de verlengkabel, die in principe ook niet aan te raden is. Afstandsprobleem opgelost maar een integrale kabel van 5 m die nog beter signaalgeleidend is zou natuurlijk ideaal zijn.
