General
Condenser microphones are the ideal choice for recording vocals and acoustic instruments. They are the preferred microphone type of recording studios and radio stations, as they can record more detail than dynamic microphones, thanks to their wider and flatter frequency response. The only problem is that conventional condenser microphones are not made for use with a computer – which would mean that you would need a microphone amplifier and an analogue USB interface.
Kristal Software
These problems are now over with the C-1U USB studio condenser microphone! You don’t even have to install additional drivers onto your computer in order to use it and this microphone is even compatible with Windows Vista and 7! It comes with an extensive software package, including Audacity for recording, Kristal Audio Engine for editing and multi-tracking, Podifier upload software and PodNova download software. Just connect the microphone to your PC or Mac, load Audacity and save your recording to your hard drive. Load the accessory Kristal software and you can edit your recording or add tracks. Subsequently, you are ready to upload your work to the internet with Podifier!
No Distortion
Working with the C-1U may be easy, but this professional microphone is anything but simple performance-wise. It has an extraordinary flat frequency response and a proper sound resolution that assures you of rich audio that sounds as natural as the original source. The cardioid recording pattern ensures a good separation of the different sounds and counters feedback. The C-1U’s low-noise transformerless FET input circuits can take very high sound pressure levels of up to a 136 dB, with a frequency response of 40 Hz – 20 kHz. This means that even if your next vocalist has the power of a jet engine, you will not suffer from distortion.
