General
The Stentor SR1866PE Messina 15.5-inch (4/4) is a viola from Stentor’s handmade Pro Series. This instrument is designed for the advanced violist who demands the very best in tone and finish. The Messina is crafted entirely by hand in a specialist workshop under the supervision of a master luthier, using carefully selected, flamed tonewoods: the top is made of spruce, whilst the sides, back and neck are made of maple. Fine details such as inlaid purfling, an ebony fingerboard and tuning pegs, and a traditional shellac varnish ensure a high-quality finish. The Messina is fully fitted with Pirastro strings for a warm, well-defined tone.
