After 40 years, VOX has reissued the legendary VOX 846 wah-wah pedal in the form of the V846-HW. This fully hand-wired wah was built with the same specs as the original 1967 design. Every component from the coils and resistors to the transistor and the potentiometer was specially selected for an optimal sound. It doesn't stop there though, because a true-bypass circuit has also been added, which means that your guitar's original sound is maintained when the pedal is off.

When VOX designed the first wah-wah in the 1960s, they were looking for a way to make guitars sound more like muted trumpets, which were a key ingredient in a lot of music, in those days. The original VOX wah-wah pedal enjoyed quick popularity and it inspired many artists to experiment, which is why you'll hear the VOX 846 in many world hits, such as Jimi Hendrix's legendary Woodstock performance.
