General

Traditional to West Africa, Terré Percussion's take on the Balafon combines wide hardwood blocks with hollow gourds to produce an immediately warm and melodic sound. This authentic instrument is played using the included pair of beaters, shares a similar technique to the xylophone, and is traditionally played by griots (musicians and storytellers) and dance orchestras.
