The POD HD Pro X is the HD Pro on steroids. This effect and modelling processor is a powerful rack module and the pinnacle of Line 6's expertise in the field of guitar effects and amp simulation. This professional 19-inch rack can easily be incorporated into a (live) rack. The Line 6 POD HD Pro X combines the best features of the POD HD and the POD HD 500X. What's more, this version offers even more computing power, meaning that you can program even more complex effect sequences. The tonal possibilities will take you by storm, whether you're a musician or part of the audience.

HD PRO X: Ultimate Tonal Palette

The POD HD Pro X is smothered in amp models and studio-grade effects. Ranging from delays to compressors and reverbs, all can be connected and freely adjusted to your heart's content. The amplifier models can be extensively edited to resemble a tube-driven amp with settings like Sag, Bias, Bias Excursion and Hum. This is the perfect module for accurately tuning into a specific guitar sound in the studio. Its flexible routing options allow for creative ideas to flow effortlessly through the POD HD Pro X and reach their full potential. Additionally, Line 6 is known for their product interconnectivity, which means that DT amps and StageSource speakers are a perfect match for the POD HD Pro X.

Connectors

Both live and in the studio, this is a highly versatile unit when it comes to connecting auxiliary equipment. It has MIDI and USB ports, but also digital connectivity via S/PDIF and AES/EBU, ensuring the best possible audio quality. Naturally, this device features stereo outputs via jack and XLR (unbalanced and balanced, respectively), as well as an FBV connection for a foot controller. Variax players will be happy to know that there's a VDI connector built in so that they can use the POD HD Pro X to seamlessly cooperate with their Variax guitar. Line 6's POD HD Pro X is the ultimate effect and modelling module. It emits life-like, characterful guitar sounds from a compact housing of only 2U high.

Wrote the following about Line 6 POD HD Pro X 19-inch Effect and Modelling Module

Ik heb deze module in 2018 aangeschaft voor de opnames van mijn Cd Disorders omdat ik goede gitaareffecten in mijn andere processors miste. Qua aantal en kwaliteit van de versterkers en de effecten stelt de Pod HD Pro X niet teleur. Alles wat je nodig hebt, is aanwezig, ook zeldzame effecten zoals een emulatie van de TC Electronic 2290 delay. Ik kan mijn Line 6 Variax er rechtstreeks op aansluiten, maar dat heb ik niet gedaan omdat ik het signaal ervan droog wil opnemen. Sommige presets zijn speciaal voor gebruik met de Variax gemaakt. De namen van een aantal presets geven de inspiratiebron aan, zoals Smoke on H2O. Dat scheelt zoekwerk en met een paar aanpassingen bereik je al een goed resultaat. Minpunt is de weinig intuïtieve bediening. Ik ben als synthesist wel wat gewend, maar echte gitaristen zijn gewaarschuwd. Een andere - onbegrijpelijke - domper is dat je de geheugeninhoud niet via midi kan dumpen zoals bij de voorgangers. Je hebt daarvoor de software van Line 6 nodig en ik werk alleen met hardware. Toen ik daarover bij Line 6 informeerde, moest ik aandringen om - een onvriendelijk - antwoord te krijgen. Voor een Amerikaans bedrijf valt de klantenservice dus tegen! Een Nederlandstalige basishandleiding wordt meegeleverd maar voor diepte, zoals een beschrijving van de gebruikte versterkermodellen, zul je het net op moeten om de uitgebreide handleiding neer te laden.
