IGS Audio's 572 Red Stripe is a 500-series preamp for microphones or instruments that runs entirely on tubes. As a result, when you overdrive it a little, you get a wonderfully warm, analogue saturation. Both input and output are balanced via audio transformers, which contributes to the pleasant sound of this preamp. Instruments such as guitars and bass guitars can be connected at the front, via a dedicated high-impedance jack socket. This prevents loss of signal clarity. It also features a high-pass filter with a fixed frequency of 50 Hz.

Clear and versatile

The sleekly designed front panel provides you with clear controls and a nice retro look. A real analogue VU meter gives a visual representation of the signal. Operation is simple: a single rotary knob controls the gain. There are also four switches: one for the 20 dB pad, which allows processing a signal that is already quite high, a switch for the high-pass filter, a switch for the Hi-Z input and, finally, a switch that reverses polarity.
