IGS Audio A-Type 525 Discrete VCR Compressor

The IGS Audio A-Type 525 is a 500-series compressor module. With its unique 'Compress' knob, you can adjust both the Gain and Threshold values in an instant. This adjusts the degree of compression without affecting peak volume. Separate threshold and output controls allow you to tweak the result. The attack is lightning fast: just 15 microseconds, allowing even the most persistent peaks to be tackled. The release time can be adjusted by turning the release 1 and 2 buttons or a combination of them on and off and is 0.1, 0.5, 1.5 or 2 seconds.

Versatile and classic design

The A-Type 525 features two modes: compressor and limiter. The compressor has a ratio of 2:1 and the limiter has a ratio of 20:1. An additional De-esser function is useful to rid vocals of hissing sounds. The electronics are based on classic analogue compressors and are reliable and accurate due to rigorous component selection. Apply it to guitars, vocals or other instruments to make them sound a little tighter. A hefty array of LEDs gives a visual representation of the applied compression.
