General
Ibanez' PNB14E is an electro-acoustic bass guitar with a top, back and sides made of African mahogany and an open pore matte finish. It has a 24.75-inch scale length which means the strings are nice and light for a comfortable playing experience. The laurel fretboard has a rounded 42 mm radius that feels familiar in the hand. The warm acoustic sound can easily be played through an amplifier thanks to the Under Saddle pickup and you can adjust the tone using the bass, treble and volume controls on the AEQ-2T preamplifier. It even features a handy built-in tuner.

Ik wilde een akoestische basgitaar met ongeveer dezelfde afmetingen als een gewone gitaar en die heb ik gevonden! Hij speelt lekker licht, precies wat ik zocht. Als je hem inplugt heeft hij een mooi vol basgeluid, veel krachtiger dan je van zo'n klein instrument zou verwachten. En dat tegen een prima prijsje!
Ik speel in een folkband en de anderen hebben hem ook goedgekeurd ;)

Het is een zeer kleine basgitaar. Ik speel normaal op een short scale van 30 ich maar deze is zelfs nog beduidend korter. Persoonlijk vind ik het te klein voor mijn gevoel. Voor beginners, kinderen en vrouwen met kleine handen is dit een prima instrument, De mechanieken zijn zeer soepel en de elektronica is ook in orde. Het geluid is natuurlijk smaak en met de geleverde snaren kun je niet het optimum verwachten. Snaren is een apart item en ook van persoonlijke smaak afhankelijk. De prijs-prestatie-verhouding is super. Voor relatief weinig geld heb je een prima instrument.
