General

The Jim Dandy Series acoustic guitars are not only an affordable starting point, but boast the charming looks of some of Gretsch's earliest six-strings, namely the old Rex models from the thirties, forties and fifties. This Parlor model is a compact, lightweight and smooth-playing, roots-focussed acoustic guitar with a laminated sapele body that helps shape warm sound.

The Jim Dandy Parlor: Authentically Detailed

As well as a semi-gloss finish, this vintage-style steel-string has been adorned with white pearloid position markers and an aged white pickguard stamped with a G logo. The C-profile neck is made of nato and has been topped with an 18-fret walnut fretboard with a 12-inch radius to guarantee a comfy playing feel. This modestly-sized and modestly-priced acoustic guitar is perfect for easy-listening styles like blues.

Gretsch Jim Dandy Parlor Frontier Stain WN Aged White Pickguard Acoustic Guitar

Wrote the following about Gretsch Jim Dandy Parlor Frontier Stain WN Aged White Pickguard Acoustic Guitar
My third Jim dandy, so I knew what to expect - a bright sounding, damn-good-looking parlor guitar with a surprising amount of chutzpah. Packaged well and delivered earlier than anticipated. The strings that came on the guitar aren’t the best, but that’s easily remedied. Bridge pins are something of a nuisance, but do look better than the pre-2024 pinless JD bridges. Overall, if you want character and playability, this is the answer. No need spending a fortune; personality comes in cheap, tiny, sapele packages!
