Someone give Mackie an award already! The American manufacturer always delivers incredibly high-quality products, but the HD1531 professional lightweight active speaker is really something else. When Mackie uses terms like High Definition, even jaded sound engineers are in for a pleasant surprise. The HD1531 is the most powerful model from the HD series, and its amplifiers deliver a combined power of 1,8000 Watts.
Mackie's HD1531 is equipped with various amplifiers - three, to be precise. The speaker's woofer, mid-frequency driver and tweeter all have their own amps, which deliver a power of 1,400 Watts, 200 Watts and 200 Watts respectively. As such, optimal sound quality is ensured at all times, even if you're pushing the volume to its limits. At an SPL of 135 dB - more than plenty for most halls - the HD1531 will astonish DJs, musicians and speakers alike.
The Mackie HD1531 has a rugged housing, so it can handle a bit of action on the road. A steel grille protects the front, and the cabinet is made of 15mm-thick plywood with a scratch-proof textured paint finish. On the sides you'll find handles for easy transport, also made of metal. This speaker doesn't just look like it can take a hit, it actually can, which is not only ideal on the road, but also if you want to use the speaker in a fixed installation. Twelve built-in M10 rigging points allow you to fly the HD1531 in any way you like.
On the back of the speaker, you'll find its amplifier and matching connectors. You can connect the HD1531 by means of an XLR cable, and even daisy-chain the signal using the loop-out XLR connector. At the rear you'll also find an equalizer with sweepable mids, which enables you to boost or mute certain frequencies by +/-3 dB. Comprehensive and professional, the Mackie HD1531 is the stuff a sound engineer's dreams are made of.
