It has a 12-inch woofer that's driven by a 1400W amp, resulting in a tight bass sound with a fast response. The RCF SUB provides reliable bass that's ideal as a base for your mix. It's also great in combination with the ART speaker series by RCF!
RCF SUB 702-AS II: under the bonnet
For an optimal sound, RCF has equipped this sub with a cabinet made of birch, which is a type of wood that's especially good at effectively countering unwanted resonance. The 1400-watt Class-D amplifier is mounted to the inside, as is common with active subwoofers, and is known for its quick response and light weight. It offers switchable voltage, so no heavy transistors are needed. This subwoofer also features a crossover with various frequencies so you can adjust it to suit your satellite speakers.
Subwoofers
The subwoofer is designed to generate enormous amounts of power in order to reproduce audible tones in the lower frequency range. The human ear has trouble registering frequencies under 100 Hz, which is the range in which subwoofers are especially active! Still, a tight bass sound is the basis of a good mix. That's why there are special subwoofers that are responsible for the ultra-low tones, like speakers with a considerable power capacity and a large cabinet. RCF has developed the SUB 7XX series of subwoofers that meet these requirements. Thanks to their integrated crossover, they're also easy to pair up with a pair of satellite speakers.
