Now, the SUB 705-AS II subwoofer can be added to that list too. It has a 15-inch woofer that places it in the middle of the SUB 7 series. RCF SUB 705-A II: amplification and crossover

One of the reasons that many sound engineers choose active speakers is that the amplifier is designed to work perfectly with it. That's certainly the case with the SUB 705-A II, which features a highly-efficient class D amplifier. These types of amps use switchable power meaning that they don't need transformers, reducing their weight. Class D amps also have a fast reaction time, which is very important for a top-quality subwoofer. There's also a crossover with a number of adjustable frequencies, as well as a polarity switch that lets you reverse the phase.

Subwoofers

Separate subwoofers exist because of the amount of power it requires to generate substantial lows. Human hearing is less sensitive to frequencies under 100 Hz, which is where subwoofers operate. A good bass sound is essential to any good mix, however. That's why, generally speaking, subwoofers have a large cabinet and a lot of power. RCF's SUB 7 series match these requirements perfectly.
