The ENGL E645/2 Powerball II 100W amp head is driven by 6L6 tubes and was made for metal. It has 4 channels, offers crystal-clear clean to high-gain distortion and includes FX loop and noise gate. ENGL E645/2 Powerball II: Innovative Functions
Just like many ENGL guitar amps, the Powerball II has various special functions, including a second master volume (Master A/B) for solo boosts and electronic Power Tube Monitoring (P.T.M.) that tells you if your tubes need replacing. There's a switchable serial/parallel FX loop, Depth Punch for extra-tight low and a new Middle Boosted function for expanding on your lead sound. It features a built-in Noise Gate for keeping the gain under control.
Control From a Distance
You can operate many of the ENGL E646 Powerball II amp head's functions with your feet. On the rear, you'll find various footswitch inputs such as ENGL’s Serial Amp Control (S.A.C.) port for connecting an optional ENGL Z-9 Custom Footswitch for toggling between the four channels with Master A or B. That's four sound variations with two volume levels each! You'll also get access to crucial functions such as Middle Boosted, FX Loop off/on and Noise Gate. Connect an optional 2-button footswitch like the ENGL Z-4 to one of the three stereo jack inputs or an optional MIDI toggle system like the ENGL Z-11!
