General
The HGS50H is a 50-watt tube amplifier head from the stylish vintage Hi Gain series by legendary brand Hiwatt. It's based on the clean channel of the Custom DR103 100-watt guitar amplifier and includes a second channel that offers distorted British guitar sounds. Using two push/pull rotary knobs, you can add as much gain and brightness as you want. The HGS50H also offers a mono effects loop and an Accutronics reverb. A handy feature is the ability to switch the voltage between 100-120 and 220-240 volts if you're performing in another country, for instance.
Hi Gain HGS50H: adjust to perfection
Thanks to a shared 3-band equalizer and a Presence potentiometer, this amp head offers enough possibilities to adjust the sound just the way you like it. With the included foot pedal, you can switch between channels and turn the reverb and off, depending on the musical genre you're playing. The power amp has four EL34 tubes and the preamp is equipped with three 12AX7 tubes and a single 12AT7. Lastly, you can also switch the output impedance between 4, 8 and 16 ohms.
