General
The MG Gold gives you 100 Watts of Marshall tone with a stable transistor foundation, two switchable channels with four flavours of delay, reverb, four further effects, and a built-in tuner. The first channel of the MG100HFX amplifier head can be toggled from classic clean to just as classic crunch while the second channel offers two overdrive variations. The choice of vintage-style or modern response is offered by the damping switch and, by hooking up the included PEDL-90010 footswitch, you get to flip through the channels hands-free.
The MG100HFX Gold: Affordable Durability and Endless Flexibility
In terms of effects, Marshall have laid it on nice and thick with four delay variations, a chorus, flanger, reverb, vibe or phaser to play with. If you have a few effects pedals, or even a whole board, simply link it through using the fitted mono FX loop. For the stage, the MG Gold can deliver its big and potent sound to one or two passive 4 Ohm speaker cabinets as preferred, and for quieter home-rehearsals, backing tracks can be played through by connecting an external device to the mini-jack line input and a set of headphones to the line out. To put it as simply as possible, the Marshall MG100HFX is a surprisingly affordable, incredibly durable and endlessly flexible twist on classic 100 Watt-driven Marshall sound.
