General
Behringer has really impressed us with the class D amplification and switch-mode power featured in their iNUKE series. These powerful amps have no trouble powering a set of PA speakers, and they're incredibly lightweight to boot! The NU12000 is the highest-powered model of the series, and is suited for amplifying a host of different types of speakers.
Technology of the NU12000 amplifier
The NU12000 features the characteristic compact 19-inch size of the iNUKE series, and because of its shallow 2U size, it is easy to mount in an amp rack. Furthermore, Behringer's class D amplification and switch-mode power supply have kept it nice and light. Built-in zero attack limiters mean you can take this amp to the max, but they'll rein it in if a peak is in danger of overloading. Thanks to the built-in crossover, you also have the option of switching between full-range, satellite or subwoofer, so your speakers can perform perfectly without requiring additional devices.
Additional iNuke factoids
You might be interested to know that the iNUKE series has a rear-to-front ventilation system, which is particularly convenient if you're planning to make a closed amp rack with a ventilation system. Connections are available in the form of XLR and 6.35mm jack inputs, plus locking speaker outputs. Finally, this amp has a fun, retro look, and features different LED indicators so you can always see the status of your amp, day or night.
