General
If masses of power is what you need, then the Devine MX-2000 is what you'll want. This forceful power amplifier delivers a 2x 1000W output at 8 Ohms and even kicks things up to 2x 1350W at 4 Ohms. Perfect for when you need to turn the volume up to eleven, this beefy amplifier is kept cool by a dynamic two-fan cooling system where a slow speed is maintained in standby, but as the amp is dialled in to deliver higher output and starts generating more heat, the speeed increases automatically.
The MX-2000: Built-In Tech
Boasting a simple-yet-effective and serviceable design, the MX-2000 is equipped with a massive ring-core transformer that passes on the power it generates to a set of transistors that have been mounted on a double heatsink that runs from the front to the back of the amp, where hot air is forced out by the active, temperature-controlled cooling system. To accommodate fixed installations as well as mobile rigs, the MX-2000 has been outfitted with various inputs and outputs, including traditional wire terminals, locking speaker ports and a locking blue power input. Also, there's no glass tube fuse that will need replacing in case of operational issues - a simple push of the reset button is all it takes to get the amp up and running again.
Controls & Installation
The MX-2000 features various built-in protection circuits to counter overload, output short-circuit and overheating. Weighing in at 17.5kg, this Devine amplifier has a 2U 19-inch housing that can be neatly installed in a flight case on wheels or slotted in a sturdy rack. Home to a handful of LED indicators, a pair of volume controls and an on/off switch, the ventilated front panel has been kept clean to keep controlling the unit as fuss-free as possible.
