General

The Koch Loadbox II (Koch LB120-II, 8-ohm version) is an excellent way to tame a roaring tube amplifier. Despite the resulting lower volume, the characteristically saturated tube sounds are fully maintained! Additionally, the Loadbox II works as a speaker simulator and a DI box. Thanks to an XLR output, a headphone output and cabinet and microphone emulation, you can make convincing recordings and practise in silence, without connecting a cabinet!

The attenuator functionality of the Loadbox II

You can connect the Loadbox input to an 8-ohm output of an amp combo or speaker cabinet. Not only will it harness the power of the amplifier (up to 12 watts), it'll reduce it at your bidding. Simply connect your cabinet to one of the 7 outputs, after which only 5% (for example) of the original power will go through. By connecting a speaker output to the From Attenuator input, you can plug in two 16-ohm cabinets to the inputs at the top right corner.
