General
DI boxes come in all shapes and sizes. This Rupert Neve Designs active DI box sets itself apart from the rest by its ingenious design, both inside and out. It uses a Class-A transformer and discrete FET amplifiers that ensure a natural, harmonic sound. The low impedance and balanced, transformer-free outputs ensure consistent results no matter which device is being used, and despite the length of the cables. Furthermore, this box features a robust, steel housing that functions on 48-volt phantom power.
Robert Neve DI: compact powerhouse
A handy feature of the RNDI is that it allows you to switch between speaker and instrument. This way, you can plug in your instrument directly, or use the direct output on an amplifier. If you connect your bass guitar to this DI box, for instance, it can produce 21.5 dBUs of headroom! You can plug in any power amp (max. 1000 watts) to the speaker input and you won't have any trouble with noise or phase issues that stage or studio microphones can sometimes cause.

Gebruik hem aan het einde van mijn pedalboard. Voor bas is hij waanzinnig. Verwacht geen grote veranderingen van een DI maar het klinkt 5 to 10% strakker en beter als je het goed beluisterd vergeleken met goedkopere DI's of bijvoorbeeld bij UAD Apollo preamp. Marginaal dus maar alle beetjes helpen. Wel altijd fantoom nodig. Opzich geen groot probleem.

Precision bass, live gebruik.. Eerder dacht ik er niet zoveel over na en plugde ik de XLR in mijn Markbass Little Mark 250 versterker.. tevens de Radial Pro48 uitgeprobeerd die erg dof en boomy geluid opleverde... sinds dat ik de Rupert Neve gebruik, is mijn bas veel beter hoorbaar in de (live)mix.
Voor de geluidstechnische nerds; vergeleken met de bekende Radial J48, heeft ie wat minder schel hoog (vervelende eigenschap van de J48) en mooier laag-midden.
Aanrader.

gekocht voor opnames in de studio. Ik neem oa mijn rhodes op via de rupert neve DI naar een Neve 1073 pre amp.. De kwaliteit is mede ook door de DI geweldig. De Di is heel stevig gebouwd en ziet er ook nog mooi uit. Aanrader

Neve is echt een degelijk merk.... alles voelt goed aan.
Stevig (je kan er op staan) en er is goed overnagedacht (vormgeving).
De optie om je sound door je orginele speaker/amp te laten gaan, en dan naar je mixer is super !
En natuurlijk het geluid is ook nog een subliem !
