General
Ferrofish makes high-end products with outstanding value for money. The Ferrofish A16 MK-II 16I/O AD/DA MADI converter is a great example of what they can do. This is a product that has proven itself in both live and studio applications. A great thing about this machine is that you can convert any of the three formats (ADAT, MADI, analogue) any way you like. The maximum sample rate is 192 kHz, depending on the number of channels you're using. Ultimately professional specifications!
Using the Ferrofish A16 MK-II
This is an incredibly handy product to have in the studio if you regularly use ADAT, MADI and analogue signals. The front panel isn't overloaded with controls, but what it does have is plenty to work with. Two elegant colour displays show the level meters and routing, the last of which is completely menu-controlled. You can also opt for external controls via MIDI or MADI-MIDI. You can stack separate units using MADI. For example, stacking four separate units will quadruple your capacity.
