General
The Ferrofish Pulse 8 AE is an excellent ADAT AD/DA converter. Expand your audio interface with eight additional inputs and outputs. The Pulse 8 AE has two ADAT inputs and two ADAT outputs. You can use these, for example, to double the sample rate using the SMUX system. This gives you 8x8 ADAT channels at a sample rate of 96 KHz or 4x4 ADAT channels at a sample rate as high as 192 KHz. Thanks to its extensive routing capabilities, you can use the Pulse 8 AE as a digital patchbay; ideal for flexibly integrating your analogue outboard gear into your DAW. You can set the routing on the high-resolution colour screen or via usb with the handy desktop app.

Great product. Does what it does, super low noise ADAT expanding. Nice and small, the screen has good readability. Only downside for me: Navigating the menu could have been better, since there are no “forward-back” or “left-right” buttons, when you want to change the gain of for example input 3, and you are on 4 (often when working with stereo), you have to cycle all the way to input 8, to 1, and back to 3.
