General

The Focusrite RedNet D16 AES is a high-quality interface that converts sixteen AES/EBU channels to and from a Dante Audio Network. It's an ideal choice for integrating your digital console, amplifier or other AES3 audio devices into a Dante network. Every input has its own Sample Rate Converter, so you can use multiple AES3 sources with different sample rates simultaneously. The converter also supports a wordclock and Digital Audio Reference Signal (DARS), so just about any digital source can be synchronised. CD players, Solid State recorders/players and other similar hardware can be connected via the S/PDIF I/O.

RedNet D16 AES: AES/EBU connectors

The Focusrite RedNet D16 AES is equipped with two DB25 (D-sub) connectors with a Tascam pin configuration. Each is good for eight inputs and outputs with AES/EBU format. Additionally, the interface also has an XLR input that you can use as a DARS inputs for you Dante system or AES3 input, the latter of which replaces channels 1 and 2 of the DB25 connector. The XLR output doubles channels 1 and 2 of the DB25.

Integration with your computer

Your run-of-the-mill Ethernet cable is the only thing you need to loop sixteen 24-bit digital audio channels with the patented Dante Audio Protocol. The optional Dante Virtual sound card gives you the option of recording separate tracks with your DAW software via your computer's network card. And if you're looking to experience unbelievable low latency, then you should definitely check out the optional RedNet PCIe card, which can utilize up to 128 channels I/O at 96 kHz with a latency of less than three milliseconds!
