General
The Amari mastering grade AD/DA converter and USB audio interface is a high-end interface by Antelope Audio that is surely appreciated by Amari any audiophile or demanding audio engineer. Under the bonnet, the Amari has ESS and AKM chips that are responsible for arguably the very best conversion on the market today. It has an attractive desktop design and amber-coloured housing with touch-screen display, and is nothing short of top-notch in terms of audio reproduction and response. To top it al off, it also features highly-acclaimed FPGA hardware effects.
Features of the Amari
What makes the Amari truly special, besides the outstanding 384 kHz, 24-bit conversion and clocking, are the two powerful headphone amplifiers. Even headphones with sky-high impedance are no problem for the Amari. The amps have separate volume controls and a limiter function. The A/B monitoring allows you to compare mixes over two independent pairs of monitors. On the rear, there are two high-quality analogue inputs and outputs as well as AES/EBU, Toslink and S/PDIF inputs and outputs. The Amari can be synchronised with an external clock generator via the word clock inputs, which are also found on the rear.
