To craft their latest affordable offerings, Fender have taken their popular Player Series models and added a handful of welcome upgrades: meet the 5-string Player Plus Jazz Bass V. Blending past and present, the essence of this iconic electric bass guitar is still a snug feeling maple neck firmly bolted to a comfortably sculpted alder body. It's the finish where things get a little more distinctive, since Fender have spotlessly covered the back of the neck in smooth satin lacquer while the all-solid body dons a stunning high-gloss coating.

The Player Plus Jazz Bass V: A Clean, Bright and Passive Single-Coil Foundation

Since we're talking about a next-gen bass here, the playability has naturally been enhanced with the help of a more modernised C-shaped neck profile and a flatter, 12" fretboard radius. Playability aside, this Fender J-Bass delivers beautifully balanced amplified sound no matter the situation - courtesy of two Player Plus Noiseless Jazz Bass single-coil pickups that have been designed to lay down a clean and bright, passive single-coil foundation. And then there's the twist in the form of a mini-switch hiding among the four fitted pots.
